Wine is something that has enamored poets throughout time, and for great reason: like poetry, great wine can be a moving experience for a person, raising one’s spirit and mesmerizing the senses as it pleases the soul.
At Pindar Vineyards, their award-winning wines turn a dream into a reality. Dr. Herodotus “Dan” Damianos, the founder of Pindar, started with a small vision and that quickly became what is now, the famous Pindar Vineyards, of Long Island. 30 years later, Pindar has become the best wine producer of Long Island.
Presently, Pindar Vineyards is made up of over 500 picturesque acres. They are known to produce 17 different types of grapes, which are then used to create some 23 exclusive blends. Pindar Vineyards yield 70,000 cases of wine per year, making them the biggest vineyard on Long Island. But don’t let that fool you; at heart Pindar still maintains a cozy environment with an intimate touch in every element of the company.
The famous Pindar Vineyards is located at 37645 Main Road (Route 25) in Peconic, NY. The Winery is open seven days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for sales and until 5:30 p.m. for tastings.
